About Me

My name is David Dyess II and I grew up in Leeds, AL — I attended Moody High School. I am married with 3 wonderful kids, 3 dogs, and a cat. I’ve served in the USAF since 2002, currently stationed at Kirtland AFB, NM and residing in Albuquerque, NM.

This is my personal blog and I plan to turn it into a portfolio of my daily life. I have lots of hobbies and I bounce back and forth between them quite a bit, so I’ll probably talk about that some.

I am a web developer and I currently work for Flavorah, building the new (under development). I also have several personal projects that I work on, when I have time:

  • – an online Bible, with a forum, and other content (I also plan to offer a Bible API);
  • – a web site supporting a Counter-Strike: Source server, which I host for some friends, you can find it in-game at – come join us!
  • A social network, which has mostly been put on hold
  • An e-liquid DIY web site, which has mostly been replaced by’s development and is also on hold
  • I’ve also built a few dozen other web sites for different people/companies;

I’m a dedicated Linux user, currently running openSUSE Tumbleweed and Arch. I try to contribute to open source when possible. I’ve contributed to several wikis (Debian, Arch, Fedora, openSUSE) and I’ve written several articles for the new openSUSE documentation (under development).
