I’ve now gone a month using Wayland in KDE Plasma 5 on openSUSE Tumbleweed, without any real issues. As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, I test it every once in a while to see how it’s coming along, until something breaks. Well, it’s hasn’t yet, so I guess we’re ready for Wayland. The gaming issues I had previously, with my mouse losing axis or moving outside of the game screen, seemed to be fixed by setting my mouse Acceleration profile to Flat, instead of Adaptive. No other mitigations have been made by me, as far as I recall.

The only issue I’ve seen is some application toolbar or context menus will stay open/display over other applications, sometimes, if I don’t click them off. That’s not really a deal breaker for me, so I guess we’ll see if I can go another month using Wayland.
